New Witcher Installment = Unreal

On March 21, CD Projekt RED announced the next game in The Witcher franchise is in development, and that it is being built on Unreal Engine – an announcement that was met with some mixed fan reviews.

On one hand, there is hesitation around new games built under the CD Projekt RED name, due to Cyberpunk 2077 being launched in a buggy state back in December 2020.

On the other hand, the move from the REDEngine used for Cyberpunk 2077, as well as the developer’s successful track record of The Witcher games, generate a good deal of neutral to optimistic perspective on what is to come for the next Witcher installment.
