Review Insights Update: Q1 2021
Writing a review is just one way players contribute to the conversation around a game, but reviews can have a significant impact on user acquisition efforts. To make it easier to understand what’s being said about games via reviews, Spiketrap has rolled out numerous improvements to review summaries, including:
- Custom date control
- Full review history
- Enhanced review topic pages
With this update, the experience exploring reviews for a game is more closely aligned to the way conversations are viewed on the platform, providing:
- Unified insight across review sources
- Clarity into themes and topics
- A historical perspective of the moments that matter
Each new feature is explained in detail below.

Custom Date Control
As is the case elsewhere on the Spiketrap platform, users can now select a custom date range for reviews, making it easier than ever to understand how players reacted to a particular update or promotion.

Full Review History
Spiketrap now ingests all the reviews from a given source for a monitor, providing a better view of how reviews have shifted over time. Previously, the dashboard displayed insights for the most recent 50,000 reviews.

Enhanced Review Topic Pages
Like conversation topics, review topics now have dedicated overview and spotlight pages. Simply click on the top right menu of any review topic card to access these views.
