Software Engineer

Reports to: Chief Technology Officer

Job Overview:

Spiketrap is building the future of content analytics. Science, engineering, and the love of a good game are at the core of our business. Our software engineers eat, sleep, and breathe objective and actionable data. This position uses their well-rounded skills to work collaboratively with a highly talented cross-functional small team. A jack of all trades, this position is as comfortable refactoring a react widget, as debating the finer points of optimizing a neural network.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Building and maintaining Spiketrap’s pipes - fetching, storing, crunching, analyzing
  • Iterate or experiment with data visualizations to improve the lives of our customers
  • Finding signal in the noise processing mountains of data from streams, chats, etc.
  • Collaborating on ML challenges to help Spiketrap’s gears spin faster.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.
  • Extensive programming experience with at least one of the following languages: Ruby, Python, Javascript.
  • Proficiency in modern DBMS, both SQL and noSQL.
  • Passionate about best practices in software engineering while not sacrificing time to production.
  • Experience in web application development - From solid API design and development to seamless web page implementation.

Bonus:

  • Masters or PhD Degree in Computer Science.
  • Experience with modern data visualization tools and techniques
  • Experience with the applied science of ML and data modeling
  • Experience with scaling complex production architectures
  • Gaming enthusiast a plus but not necessary

Technical Account Manager

Reports to: Chief Revenue Officer

Job Overview:

Are you psyched about full-stack ownership and making an immediate impact while at the same time finding a place to call home? Spiketrap is looking for a qualified Technical Account Manager to oversee and address our customers’ technical needs as well as to coordinate our internal processes. The ideal candidate is part product manager, part customer relations, and part witch or wizard. As a Technical Account Manager, you'll explain technical details and requirements to a non-technical audience. Essential skills include being results-driven, and able to see the broad strategic picture while being able to dive deep into the nitty-gritty of execution. Ultimately, you'll be providing technical product and business knowledge to support sales and develop processes to strengthen customer relationships.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Provide technical support for customers to support pre-sales and post-sales processes
  • Address all product-related queries on time
  • Train customers to use products effectively
  • Provide developers with customers’ feedback to help identify potential new features or products
  • Report on product performance
  • Identify solutions to reduce support costs
  • Analyze customers’ needs and suggest upgrades or additional features to meet their requirements
  • Liaise with the sales department to win new business and increase sales
  • Establish best practices
  • Keep track of sales performance metrics

Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience as a Technical Account Manager or similar role
  • Solid technical background with hands on experience in digital technologies
  • An ability to grasp customers’ needs and suggest timely solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Bonus:

  • BSc degree in Computer Science or relevant field
  • Familiarity with software and front-end development
  • Experience in and/or a deep love of the video game industry
